Since developing the “Wheels of Learning” craft training curricula in the 1980’s, ABC has become the world leader in apprenticeship and craft training in the merit shop construction industry.
ABC provides formal apprenticeship training programs that are registered with the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. These programs meet all federal and state requirements for formal apprenticeship and prevailing wage work including employer-sponsored classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
Mark Ruhl didn’t just start an electrical contracting business—he brought the values of rural Pennsylvania to southeastern suburban communities that needed them most. Growing up on a farm in South Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Mark learned that your reputation is built one handshake at a time, and your word is your bond.
In 1997, when Mark founded M.T. Ruhl Electrical Contracting, he made a promise: every customer would be treated like family, every job would be completed to the highest standards, and no one would be left without power when they needed it most. Nearly three decades later, that promise has been kept over 407 times and counting.
“On the farm, when your equipment failed during harvest season, you didn’t have the luxury of waiting for convenient business hours,” Mark explains. “That same urgency drives our emergency service today. When a customer calls at 2 AM because their generator won’t start, I know exactly how they feel—and we respond accordingly.”
